I am BSol Training Hub Lead. It’s my job to oversee the delivery of the Training Hub’s objectives. I liaise with all primary care providers and wider health and social care organisations to ensure primary care is represented in workforce planning.

I have been a member of BSol Training Hub Team for over 4 years. I am committed to promoting growth of the primary and social care workforce to include the supported provision of experiences in these areas for students, to promote successful, fulfilling careers and workforce sustainability. My role offers support and guidance not only to students but also qualified nurses who wish to enter general practice or continue their career within this area. I am the TH Lead for clinical supervision and am passionate about its importance across the BSol footprint.

I am the Projects & Partnerships Manager for the BSol Training Hub. As part of my role I oversee the Hub & Spoke element of the Training Hub where we have locality based coordinators looking after the localities in Birmingham and Solihull. I work closely with our external stakeholders in both developing and building relationships to support in our work and promote the Training Hub. I lead and support on projects within the Training Hub and have a keen interest in promoting working in primary care as both a desirable and achievable career choice.

I am the Projects and Management Support Officer for BSol Training Hub. My role is to provide admin support and project assistance to the Management Team. Hi I’m Tej Kaur, Training Hub Administration Officer for the BSOL Training Hub. I’m Bianca-Jade, Training Hub Communications Officer. It’s my job to oversee all things comms. As a Communications Officer, I play a pivotal role in creating and delivering the organisation’s message. I am responsible for maintaining a consistent and positive image through various channels, this includes social media. My expertise ensures effective communication is being executed internally and externally.

I am the Knowledge & Library Specialist for BSol Training Hub.

My role involves the delivery of knowledge & library services for primary care colleagues in Birmingham and Solihull.

I can help with sourcing the evidence to help with patient care or academic work.

I can help with OpenAthens accounts, carry out literature searches and provide advice and training on how to access and use evidence-based resources.

Hi, I’m Jonathan Wright, a Clinical Educator for BSol Training Hub. My role involves the provision of quality evidence based clinical education and training to support the development of learners both in clinical practice and within the wider community. I work with the wider Training Hub Team to support the training and development needs across Primary Care in Birmingham and Solihull.

Shelly Caines
Shelly CainesHealthcare / NA Facilitator & Educator
I am the Healthcare & Nurse Associate Facilitator & Practice Educator for BSol Training Hub. My job involves supporting and facilitating training to all the Health Care Support workers, Student Nurse Associates and Nurse Associates working in Primary Care across BSol, promoting career progression in our nursing workforce. Charlotte Patterson
Charlotte PattersonPharmacy Technician Facilitator
Charlotte joined in May 2021 and can help with job descriptions, recruitment, training and discussing the role pharmacy technicians have in practice. While working for the training hub Charlotte has helped to set up educational training sessions on a monthly basis for Pharmacy technicians in our region. She has been able to help secure pre-registration trainee pharmacy technician placements in the locality for the first time and support with recruiting more pharmacy technicians in our area.
Jason Jeffries-Lloyd
Jason Jeffries-LloydFCP Paramedic Facilitator
I am the Paramedic First Contact Practitioner Facilitator for BSol Training Hub. My main roles are to encourage the recruitment and retention of Paramedics in to Primary Care, Student Paramedic placements and the delivery of regular Continual Professional Development (CPD) for all Paramedics and students working in the BSol area. I also help any federation with recruitment guidance including interview questions and how to effectively advertise for the role. I work closely with my other Training Hub Facilitators on many projects involving either Paramedicine or any other Advanced Healthcare Professional (AHP).

Sanaa Zabir
Sanaa ZabirPhysician Associate Ambassador
I am the Physician Associate Ambassador for the BSol Training Hub. I liaise and work with both employers and Physician Associates to support with recruitment and development of the role – this can be by sitting on interview panels, arranging and leading training/cpd sessions, visiting universities as well reviewing and amending job descriptions to name a few. I am also a clinical mentor for the BSol Physician associate internship programme which has been running for 3 years now. Neelam has been our Pharmacist facilitator since 2022 and can help facilitate pharmacist placements and the recruitment, training and development of Pharmacists within the Birmingham & Solihull area.
Claire Jones

Claire Jones is the Advanced Practitioner Facilitator for BSol Training Hub and works part-time as a Nurse Practitioner in Primary Care.
Claire supports with the advanced practice agenda in primary care and can support advanced clinical practitioners, trainee advanced clinical practitioners and nurse colleagues considering a career in advanced practice in primary care.

Locality Coordinators

Molly Childs
Molly ChildsSenior Locality Coordinator- West and Central Birmingham
I am the Senior Locality Coordinator for the BSol Training Hub. I work closely with the Project and Partnership Manager and the wider Training Hub team to ensure that the Coordinators are able to offer their support and be supported. As Locality Coordinators we cover the different localities in the Birmingham and Solihull area, mine being East and Central Birmingham. Our aim is to support practices and PCNs with embedding the new additional roles, workforce planning, understanding the needs of the locality and provide support for this and discuss training opportunities. Kirstie McIlwraith

As part of the Hub and Spoke model that our Training Hub provides, we have locality coordinators working in each locality in Birmingham and Solihull. This is a function supported by BSol ICB, with an aim to deliver a Training Centre Support in each locality, providing a link between the PCNs, the work of the Training Hub and the individual needs of the locality. I am the locality coordinator for the South of Birmingham.
Essentially, my role is to support PCNs and practices in South Birmingham with Workforce Planning, supporting the needs of the locality, helping to embed the new additional roles, discuss training opportunities, educational forums, identify student placement opportunities and provide a direct link between you and the Training Hub for any queries, questions or support that you and your team need.

I am the BSol Training Hub Coordinator looking after the Central Birmingham locality. As a locality coordinator, my role is to provide a point of contact between the Birmingham and Solihull Training Hub and the practices and PCNs within my locality; I work closely with practice staff and the team at the Training Hub to share information around available training, funding and student placement opportunities as well as working together to provide advice, support and building networks for colleagues in all roles in general practice to recruit and retain a strong and knowledgeable workforce.

I am the locality coordinator for East and North Birmingham. My role is to support PCNs and practices with Workforce Planning, supporting the needs of the locality, helping to embed the new additional roles, discuss and identify student placement and training opportunities and educational forums.
