This trainer-led module has been developed in conjunction with PCI accredited training provider TPC Health.
This trainer-led, interactive session will cover:
- Benefits of PCSP and the key elements
- High quality vs sub-optimal conversations
- Quality standards and distorted perceptions
- Conversation frameworks with structured stages
- Developing personalised outcomes
- Challenges of goal setting
- Application to practice
Why is the training needed?
The training forms part of a wider programme of work around personalised care, including supporting and empowering patients to take a more active role in their health and care, and will support delivery against clinical guidance and contractual requirements. The training has been co-produced with clinicians and experts across Birmingham and Solihull ICS and Herefordshire and Worcestershire ICS (encompassing relevant clinical guidance and findings from public engagement).
Who is it for?
The training aims to support staff to have more effective personalised conversations, ensuring care is delivered based on what matters to the individual.
PCSP can help to improve patient motivation and health outcomes and reduce health inequalities.
What is the content/format of the training?
Delivery of the training will be largely practical and led by a skilled trainer, although some pre-reading preparation will be required (provided on enrolment). The training will provide learners with the tools and techniques that can be used to empower patients to recognise their own strengths in managing their health and wellbeing, as well as opportunities for peer learning and sharing best practice. The course is approximately 3 hours in length.
What costs are involved?
Course enrolment is free of cost. There is a waiting list for training and so please only reserve a place on the training if you are able to attend the whole sessions.
