Primary Care Learning Environment Approval Process

West With the commitments in the Long-Term Plan, the People Plan 2020/21, and the manifesto of increasing the working in primary care by 6000 more doctors and 26,000 more colleagues in additional roles, there is a pressing need to increase the number of educators and learning environments within Primary and Integrated Care settings.

The Workforce, Training and Education Directorate (WT&E) in NHS England (NHSE), formally Health Education England (HEE), hold the strategic responsibility for the quality assurance and quality management processes of educators and clinical learning environments. In support of the wider WT&E expansion work programme, the WT&E Quality Team have worked with the national Primary and Integrated Care team to innovate and enhance these processes for the future.

So, what is BSol Training Hub’s involvement in this process?

Training Hubs and their Quality Leads within each Integrated Care System are accountable for the quality and assurance processes for their area and will manage operationalisation elements. Training Hubs are responsible for the administration of the approval and on-going quality monitoring processes for all learning environments within their ICS.
